While ongoing financial support is always appreciated, we need a number of items on a regular basis.
- Hay. We feed grass hay only (no alfalfa), it runs around $20/bale. We go thru a bale every 1 1/2 meals.
- C-Complex and Joint Health Supplements for Equines. Miss T will be on both of these for her lifetime. The C-Complex is $75 for a 5 lb container and the Joint Health is $90 for a 2.5lb container.
- Farrier. We are on a 12-week schedule for trims for the donkeys. They are $50 each. This helps keep their feet in great condition and decreases the chances of lameness.
- Hoof trim. The cows get their hooves trimmed once a year. $100 per head.
- Carrots. The donkeys LOVE carrots and they are a good, healthy snack.
- Purina Cattle Cubes. AKA Cow cookies!!! A bag runs about $22.
- Chicken feed. We go thru a bag every 2 weeks. A bag runs about $20.
- Sand Clear. It’s basically Metamucil for equines. Now that we are in sandy pastures, the donkeys need this 1 week out of every month to combat sand colic, which can be fatal. A one week dose for all 3 donkeys runs around $30.
- Sweet Feed Grain for Auggie Norman and Snowflake. A bag runs about $25.
