Mabel is a Rhode Island Red hen. She was rescued along with her sister Mavis from a swap meet at 7 weeks of age. She is a very sweet girl. UPDATE: We lost our sweet Mabel to a very sudden illness. We will miss her very much.

Matilda
Matilda is a Delaware hen. She was rescued from a swap meet at 8 months of age. When I asked what her name was, the lady replied “Dinner”.
Margaret
Margaret is a Barred Plymonth Rock hen. She was rescued from a swap meet at 6 weeks of age. She is one of the leaders of the hen house.
Rosemary
Rosemary is an Ameraucana hen. She was rescued from a swap meet at 6 weeks of age. She is feisty!
Baby Opal
Baby Opal is a Brahma hen. She is a beautiful big girl with feathers on her feet. She was rescued from a swap meet at 4 weeks of age.
Gladys, Gertrude and Nellie
Gladys, Gertrude and Nellie are Barred Plymouth Rock hens. They were all 4H girls who had finished their “purpose” and were being replaced by ducks.
Nugget
Nugget lost both of her hen sisters and her human mom was concerned about her loneliness. She reached out to us at Libby Lou’s to see if Nugget could become a part of our sanctuary. Nugget is a Barred Plymouth Rock hen.
