The Sanctuary’s namesake is a miniature Hereford heifer born in 2016 at a show cattle ranch in eastern CO. She has a very big personality, loves being brushed and getting cow cookies. She is also very bossy!
Fleetwood
Fleetwood is a Belted Galloway/Black Baldy steer born in 2018 at a ranch in northern CO that both adopts out and slaughters for meat. He likes getting into mischief, headbutting me and mooing. His nickname is Bratman.
DaisyBelle
DaisyBelle is a Holstein heifer born in 2019 at a ranch in eastern CO, where she was not provided shelter or trace minerals. She will never have to experience the normal life of a dairy cow…having her babies taken away or be exploited. She is super sweet and likes people.
Whittier
Whittier is a Black Baldy cow born in 2015 in northern CA. She is the alpha of her herd and her calves are Doe and Snowflake. She is friendly but definitely a no-nonsense boss lady! She is part of the NorCal herd.
Doe
Doe is a Hereford mix heifer calf born in 2020 in northern CA. Her mom is Whittier. She is very friendly and outgoing. She is part of the NorCal herd.
Waimea
Waimea is a Black Baldy cow born in 2015 in northern CA. Her calves are Martha and Maui. She is friendly and very sweet. She is part of the NorCal herd.
Martha
Martha is a Hereford heifer born in 2020 in northern CA. Her mom is Waimea. She is a bit shy with strangers and is kind of a wild child! She is part of a the NorCal herd.
Mary
Mary is a Hereford heifer born in 2020 in northern CA. Her mom was rescued by Animal Place. She is a bit shy with strangers but getting braver! She is part of the NorCal herd.
Snowflake
Snowflake is a Black Baldy heifer born here at Libby Lou’s in March 2021. Her mom is Whittier. She was the first of 3 calves born here and is such a blessing! Super sweet and gaining confidence!
Auggie Norman
Auggie Norman is a Jersey steer calf rescued from a Northern CA dairy when he was just 6 hours old in March 2021. He was orphaned and is trying to find his place with the herds here at Libby Lou’s. He is in love with Snowflake! He has had breathing difficulties and was twice misdiagnosed. He was finally correctly diagnosed with a congenital heart defect and has Congestive Heart Failure. He is being treated aggressively with medications and is doing well!
Maui
Maui is a Hereford mix steer born here at Libby Lou’s in May 2021. His mom is Waimea. He is super sweet and enjoys getting his face brushed.
Regan
Regan is a Hereford heifer born here at Libby Lou’s in July 2021. Doe is her mom and Whittier is her grandma. She is a total surprise baby as Doe’s pregnancy test came back negative! She is named in honor of Regan Russell, a vegan animal-rights activist tragically killed while bearing witness at a Pig Save vigil.
